They will be implemented with much more sincerity without giving scope for loopholes

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has asserted that his government would not compromise with the ongoing welfare and developmental programmes.

“People of the State have reposed faith in us. We can not disappoint them. The ongoing programmes will be implemented with much more sincerity without giving any scope for loopholes,” Dr. Reddy said addressing the extended Pradesh Congress Committee meeting here on Tuesday.

He said the Congress government in the last five years had paid utmost attention to all the three regions. “We rededicate the victory to the people and will do everything to continue with our pro-programmes,” he added.

He also cautioned the Congressmen against over confidence and pointed out that as far as possible cadres and leaders should forge closer rapport with the people and improve the credibility.

The AICC general secretary M. Veerappa Moily said the policies implemented by the UPA government under the leadership of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and AICC president Sonia Gandhi and the far reaching result oriented schemes of Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy government has given wonderful results in Andhra Pradesh.

Mr. Moily explained to Congress leaders the circumstances under which the party won the Parliament election despite the communal campaign by the BJP and others.

Andhra Pradesh, he said, played a historic role in the retention of the UPA government by electing 33 Congress MPs.

Presiding over the function, APCC president D. Srinivas said even without any alliance Congress party has come out with flying colours. “It is because of the good work done by Dr. Reddy. We want the programmes to continue with much more commitment,” he said. Mr. Srinivas also appealed to the Chief Minister to recognise the services of the party workers, who had wholeheartedly ensured party’s victory.
