Vignan varsity gets a breather

GUNTUR: Vignan University, one of the 44 universities, recommended for de-recognition by the Human Resource Development Ministry, has got a temporary reprieve following Supreme Court’s directive on Monday to maintain status quo on the issue of status of the university.

The academic activity would begin on February 1 and examination schedule announce very soon, said that the university registrar Narendar Reddy.

During the hearing, the SC ordered for status quo of all the 44 deemed universities in the country.

The Vignan University along with others has been given an opportunity to present its case to the apex court, said a release from the university. The Registrar, advised the students to give rest to their apprehensions and carry on with full fervor their academic work.
