VSP celebrates 60 years of Factories’ Act

Workshop is organised on safety at the workplace.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam Steel Plant organised a special workshop on ‘Safety at Workplace-role of Safety Committee members’ for all members of Central and departmental committees on Friday to commemorate the occasion of “60 years of Indian Factories Act, 1948”.

Chairman and Managing Director of RINL, the corporate entity of VSP, P.K. Bishnoi, conveyed to the VSP collective that highest standards of safety is to be maintained and was willing to make investments to enforce it in the wake of the Government of India declaring the year 2008 as the year of ‘Occupational Health and Safety’.

Joint Chief Inspector of Factories D.C.S. Varma graced the work shop and spoke.

Deputy Transport Commissioner S. Venkateswararao, Circle Inspectors Ramana Murty and R. Srinivas, spoke on Accident Prevention, Traffic regulations and Road safety.

FACOR representatives L.N. Murty and K.V.S.S.N. Murty, senior officials, Union leaders and other invitees participated.
