Try your luck at this game show

It’s the game show that is ruling the small screen and seeking to break new ground. The undisputed leader of Telugu entertainment channels Gemini TV has come up with one that is promoted as the biggest show of South Indian television history.

‘Deal or No Deal’ is the game show hosted by actor Sai Kumar that started this Saturday and on offer is the prize money of Rs.50 lakh cash. Set against a unique mix of setting, it is based on the international television game show with same name and telecast in over 73 countries while handing over cumulative prize money to the tune of Rs.500 crore.

“There is no need to answer any complex questions to win money, all it takes is guts and common sense. I am delighted to be able to give away lots of money on this show,” says host Sai Kumar. Basically, the game involves 26 suitcases, each of which contains an unknown amount between Re.1 and Rs.50 lakh. A contestant has to choose any one of these suitcases, paraded by a bevy of beauties, not knowing the value inside and from then on has the challenge of walking away with maximum possible amount. Apart from 26 money boxes for the contestants, DND also has a 27th box meant for viewers offering Rs.1 lakh. Gemini already has a strong fiction based programming content and a movie bank that is wide ranging and the latest initiative is to launch non-fiction shows on its top. The launch of DND is a step in that direction and also a signal of things to come, points out Ajay Vidyasagar, COO, Sun TV Network.
