The Balajinagar police claimed to have solved a triple murder case in which a couple and their three-year-old daughter were brutally murdered in February 2009 in the city.

The police team, under the supervision of Town DSP G.R. Radhika, arrested Antony Raja and Selva Jayanthan who confessed to have committed the heinous crimes, said Superintendent of Police E. Damodar.

Disclosing this to the media here on Wednesday, the SP said the deceased Khadiran alias Raja (35), his wife Suguna (28) and daughter Bhumika (3) were staying in a house at NTR Nagar in the city. They were natives of Lingampattu village, Thuthhukudi district of Tamilinadu state. Khadiran was a mason.

The accused, also belonging to the same village were labourers, befriended the family. Khadiran allegedly developed extra-marital relationship with Jayanthan's wife.

The accused hatched a plan to eliminate Khadiran. They took him to an isolated place near the National Highway and stabbed him indiscriminately, killing him on the spot. .

Antony and Jayanthan later strangled his wife and daughter to death. The police team led by head constables SK.Basheer, Nagender Singh, Bhaskar, Srinivasulu Reddy and Dasadaramaiah rounded up the accused at Sulluripeta railway station on Tuesday night while they were trying to escape, said Mr. Damodar.
