Ravindra Bharati School students observe ‘Profession Day’

TIRUPATI: With an aim to create awareness among children on various professions that impact our lives, Ravindra Bharati School observed ‘Profession Day’ at its Bairagipatteda premises here on Saturday.

The tiny tots, all studying just LKG to II class, donned the role of a doctor, policeman, postal employee, judge and advocate to explain the significance of the role of each of them in the society. Children portraying the role of the accused and who were made to stand in the “lock-up”, appeared remorseful, which showed crime in the right perspective to the tender hearts. The 212 students not just donned the robes, but also delivered the dialogues effectively. Equally interesting was the ‘village’ scene. Most city-bred children who were never been to a village had the opportunity to watch the village centre, shandy and even a ‘Palle Velugu’ bus waiting to pick up passengers. The event was understandably conducted as a co-curricular activity to help children look beyond their books and learn from real life situations.

Parents took part in large numbers and cheered the children. Additional Superintendent of Police R.N. Ammi Reddy and Paediatrics head at SV Medical College A. Arumugam addressed the children about their respective professions.
