Tata Teleservices clarifies

HYDERABAD: Tata Teleservices has asserted that there was no delay on its part in notifying the police about the illegal call termination racket that was unearthed in its office recently. Responding to a news item published in these columns the telecom company spokesman said “The only time lapse, if any took place between suspecting a fraud to making certain that it had taken place”. He also pointed out that the gateway equipment which was used for terminating the international calls was ‘not the size of a closet’, but it looked more like a laptop. The spokesman said the company had all the Call Detail Records (CDRs) which were retrieved from the system.
