TDP’s 10 posers to Chief Minister

Answers sought on issues pertaining to Warangal district

Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party has raised 10 issues pertaining to Warangal and demanded answers from Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy during his visit to the district.

Kadiam Srihari, TDP Polit Bureau member, in an ‘open letter’ to Dr. Reddy on Saturday wanted him to explain why the Devadula lift irrigation scheme works were delayed. While the Government had claimed that the first phase would be ready by June last year, but till date motors had not been fixed because of ‘differences among the contractors’.

He said the Government had to explain as the Gundlavagu project was washed away in heavy rain and no action has been initiated against the engineers. He wondered why no action was being initiated against officials after large-scale irregularities in the Indiramma housing programme. He sought to know why it failed to note ‘involvement’ of Congress leaders in the massinve urban housing scam.

Mr. Srihari expressed surprise over the Government’s ‘support’ to those who had ‘occupied’ assigned lands in the district. He wanted the administration to explain why cases were filed against the poor who took part in the land struggles. He took a dig at Government for posting confirmed IAS officers as Collectors and non-cadre officials as Joint Collectors.

He said Dr. Reddy should answer TDP queries to prove his sincerity and Government’s commitment for betterment of the poor.
