VIJAYAWADA: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Left parties will be holding a district-level political conference at Tummalapallivari Kshetrayya Kalakshetram on December 27 to discuss and chalk out a strategy to expose the “anti-poor” and “corrupt” activities of the ruling Congress Government. TDP MLA Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, CPI (M) leaders – Ch. Babu Rao and R. Raghu – CPI leader Ch. Koteswara Rao, TDP SC Cell chairman Varla Ramaiah and others announced this at a press conference here on Tuesday.

Issues such as the recent corruption scandal involving eight Ministers would be discussed in depth and a strategy chalked out to expose the government’s “true colours,” the opposition leaders said. CPI State secretary K. Narayana, TDP State vice-president Metla Satyanarayana, CPI (M) leader Paturi Ramaiah and others would attend the meet.

Mr. Umamaheswara Rao said there were nearly 70 issues on which the TDP and the Left parties would mount a combined attack on the ruling Congress, and the coming days would see a united struggle by the Opposition against the “misdeeds” of the Rajasekhara Reddy Government.
