Symbiosys Technologies bags best EoU award

VISAKHAPATNAM: City-based software development firm – Symbiosys Technologies has been awarded the best export-oriented unit (EoU) among small-scale industries for 2007 by Export Promotion Council for EoUs and Special Economic Zone units.

The award for being the top exporter in the country in SSI category will be presented by Union Minister for Commerce Kamal Nath on February 3 in New Delhi. Symbiosys had a turnover of Rs.12.06 crores during the year under review.

The Export Promotion Council has selected Hewlett Packard (I) Software, Cochin SEZ as best non-SSI EoU, Infosys, MEPZ SEZ as best SEZ non-SSI unit and Crysind Electronics, Cochin SEZ as best SEZ-SSI unit.

Symbiosys, which has set up a unit at IT SEZ Rushikonda with an investment of Rs.15 crores is a global IT service company with a focus on industry-specific solutions. “We undertake software development in Microsoft, Net Framework, Java, Open Systems, enterprise application integration and consulting,” company’s CEO Naresh Kumar told The Hindu on Wednesday. He said the company had participated in Pravasi Bharatiya Divas – the NRI Diaspora conference and other trade delegations to the US, South Africa, Botswana and Europe to explore business opportunities in alternate markets.
