Strive to root out exploitation, students told

NALGONDA: Noted academic Prof G. Haragopal has called upon the students to strive to create a humane society free of exploitation and domination.

Addressing a seminar on ‘Human Rights – Contemporary Issues’ at NG Government Degree College in Nalgonda on Tuesday, Mr. Haragopal deplored that brutal acts like acid attacks against women were taking place in the society due to the erosion of human values. “Such barbarous tendencies are on the rise creating a scar on the civilised society,” he lamented.

“The oppressed sections should be protected from all kinds of exploitation to uphold human rights in the society,” he said and exhorted the students to bring attitudinal change in the society for protecting the human rights in letter and spirit.

Prof M. Kodandaram alleged that the violation of GO 610 and the regional imbalances amounted to infringement of human rights.
