Steel plant contributes Rs. 35 lakhs for ODI

VSP Chairman and Managing Director hands over the cheque to VDCA secretary

VISAKHAPATNAM: As part of its corporate responsibility to encourage sports, the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) has contributed Rs.35 lakhs to the Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association (VDCA) for holding the fourth one day international cricket match between India and Sri Lanka here on Saturday.

VSP Chairman and Managing Director Y. Siva Sagar Rao handed over the cheque for the amount to VDCA secretary K. Parthasarathy, a VSP spokesman said.

A souvenir brought out by the organising committee of the Hero Honda Cup fourth and final ODI between Sri Lanka and India will be released by Chairman of the BCCI Selection Committee Dilip Vengsarkar before the start of the match at the ACA-VDCA Stadium here on Saturday. Curbs for goods vehicles

Goods transport vehicles will be diverted from the National Highway on Saturday from 5 a.m. till the completion of the India-Sri Lanka one-day match. Vehicles coming from Anakapalle and Gajuwaka towards Vizianagaram and Srikakulam will be diverted at the NAD Kotha Road junction and have to proceed via Gopalapatnam, Pendurthy and Anandapuram.


Vehicles from Gajuwaka coming from Scindia junction will be diverted at the Hanumanthawaka junction and proceed towards Adavivaram and Sontyam.

Goods vehicles from Srikakulam and Vizianagaram going towards the city will be diverted at the Vellanki junction and have to proceed via Sontyam, Simhachalam, Gopalapatnam and NAD Kotha road.
