HYDERABAD: The students of Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Kondapur, celebrated ‘Children’s Day’ with enthusiasm on November14. Students of Class LKG to XII presented variety of programmes showcasing the importance of pollution-free environment, greenery, cleanliness, respect to nature, healthy food habits, etc. The staff members too entertained students by presenting cultural and yoga demonstration.

St.Alphonsa’s HS

St. Alphonsa’s High School celebrated its annual day at Sri Satya Sai Nigamagamam.

About 450 students participated in the cultural programme attended by students and parents.

Students from Nursery to Standard X presented a variety of programmes including festive dances from States of Goa, Orissa, Maharashtra, etc. and patriotic songs and dances.

Prashanth G Verma, divisional head, H.R. Karvy (Group) who was the chief guest distributed prizes to the students who excelled in academics, sports and games. Cash awards were given to toppers in academics. Earlier, Director of Academics, D. Aruna Yasoda, highlighted achievements of the school.

Naveena Model HS

Naveena Model High School, Hasthinapuram, celebrated Children’s Day by paying tributes to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

Apart from cultural programmes, students were also treated to interesting talks on ‘Social responsibility and Individuality’ of students and ‘Relevance of mathematics in Indian Institutes of Technology’ by chief guest and High Court Judge Justice V. Eswaraiah and eminent mathematician C. Ramaiah respectively.

The guests later gave away prizes to the children for various competition
