Social welfare institutions raided

HYDERABAD: Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday seized records from the AP Social Welfare Residential School and Junior College, Golugonda, and Social Welfare Hostel for Boys, Narsipatnam, both in Visakhapatnam district, after conducting surprise checks.

The seized records included visiting notes and stock/attendance registers, a press release issued by ACB here said.

The check on the school/college revealed a shortage of 900 kg rice and other irregularities pertaining to menu and stock of provisions.

It also showed improper maintenance of records.

In the case of hostel, the officials found that 119 students were shown to be present in excess, than the actual strength.

They unearthed various other irregularities of menu and stock of provisions.
