Skill certificates given away

VISAKHAPTANAM: Commissioner of Employment and Training D. Srinivasulu on Sunday awarded Skill Certificates to workers who passed the test conducted under ‘Modular Employable Skill’ programme.

Addressing a gathering on the occasion, he said workers and ITI qualified persons could utilise the training to improve their employability. Existing skills of those approaching can be tested and certified under the scheme. The Skill Certificate is issued by the Director General of Employment and Training, New Delhi, recognised by 163 countries. The ITI (Old) Visakhapatnam is organising the free training in 250 courses of 120 hours to 240 hours duration. The ITI (Old) has so far trained 600 employees and 270 candidates were awarded skill certificates. Regional Deputy Director (App) J.V. Prabhakar, Principal M. Gurunadheswara Rao and Institute Management Committee chairman B.S.B. Prabhakara Rao participated.
