Scholarships announced

TIRUPATI: The state-wide ‘Pratibha Scholarships’, pertaining to the Education Common Entrance Test (Ed.CET-2006), were announced at SVU campus here on Friday.

In tune with the Government’s policy to offer scholarships to motivate students, the Ed.CET-2006 convener had announced to provide 50 awards to the top rankers of the common entrance test, the break-up of which being 20 awards to Social Studies methodology and 10 each to Mathematics, Physical sciences and Biological sciences.

SVU Vice-Chancellor S.Jayarama Reddy formally released the list and announced the awardees. All the awardees are top rankers in their respective categories, while two awards in each methodology had been earmarked for Open, Women and Backward Classes (BC) category and one each for SC, ST, Physically Handicapped and Minority categories.

Osmania/Kakatiya University region topped the list with 23 awards, followed by 19 from Andhra/Acharya Nagarjuna.
