Satyam refutes ‘adverse’ report

HYDERABAD: Satyam Computer Services, the Hyderabad-based IT services provider, has refuted reports that the World Bank has barred it from doing offshore work.

The company reacted strongly to the reports in international media that the Bank had taken this decision after noticing reported intrusions in the systems.

Contract ends

The reports incidentally appeared after a five-year contract between Satyam Computers and the World Bank for implementing ERP solutions, extend document management and integrated messaging systems concluded in September. A company spokesman said the story, quoting a statement issued by World Bank to the agencies, was “wrong and was “riddled with falsehoods and errors.”

“The story cites misinformation from unattributed sources and leaked emails that are taken out of context,” a statement issued by the company said.
