Salar Jung Museum wins award

HYDERABAD: Recognising the energy conservation efforts by Salar Jung Museum, the Energy Conservation Mission -- the Institution of Engineers and Non-Conventional Energy Development Corporation of AP Limited -- has awarded it with first prize in Best Energy Conservation Practices. The award was presented in connection with National Energy Conservation Week and National Energy Conservation Day. According to a press release, the museum has replaced its 40 watt tubelights with energy-efficient slim tube lights and replaced the conventional chokes with electronic chokes in the past year. Also it has installed CFL’s in a few blocks thereby conserving energy. The award was given by S. Bhattacharya, Managing Director, AP Transo to A.N. Reddy, Director, Salar Jung Museum on Saturday evening.
