SPMVV workers’ union seeks minimum wages

TIRUPATI: Members of the Employees and Workers’ Union of Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam, Tirupati on Saturday submitted a memorandum to Vice-Chancellor Sarojamma on their seven-point charter of demands.

The members in the representation stated that though 180 persons were working as lab assistants, computer operators, pump operators, electricians, grounds men etc in the varsity for the last 16 years, they were not being paid the statutory minimum wages as per the G.O released by the Labour Department.
