Kakinada: East Godavari Collector M.Subrahmanyam has said that a special action plan was being launched with an out lay of Rs.3.5 crores for improving the infrastructure such as toilets, drinking water and other amenities in all the hostels in the district during current year.
Participating as chief guest at the meeting of wardens of social welfare hostels, schools head masters and officials of Social Welfare and Education Departments on Saturday, he said the Social Welfare Minister had already sanctioned Rs.50 lakhs for implementation of the plan.
Attendance
Pointing out that the hostel students’ attendance was hardly 40 per cent during holidays, he wanted the wardens and Head Masters to ensure full attendance.
Inspection
He wanted special coaching should be arranged by deploying subject teachers in all hostels and organise health checkup to hostel inmates.
During recent inspection of various hostels, he said, it was found that wardens were not available to students and neglecting their requirements.
He said wardens should not leave the hostels after releasing the rations and looking after the attendance.
