VISAKHAPATNAM: To commemorate the International Youth Day, the Rotary Club Visakha Port City is organising a district seminar on New Generations on Sunday.

Announcing this here on Saturday, the director New Generations K. Venkateshwara Rao said the seminar was being held to involve people in service for the needy.

Eminent speakers will deliver the lectures on the occasion on education, health and human values as basic needs of new generations. The Rotary youth programme moderator, L. Satyanarain, B. Anand Kumar and Sheila Jackson will talk about the medical and other camps undertaken by Rotarians.

The students from Timpany School, Vignan and several other schools apart from the college students will attend the seminar. “In the month of September, community based programmes, debates and other programmes will be organised.

Five outsiders and one Rotarian under the group exchange study programme (GSE) would be selected to be sent abroad under the youth exchange programme.

A committee appointed by rotary selects all six members,” he said.

Speaking at the press conference assistant governor Rotarian Club Visakha City Kamal Baid said, “Every year in January and February, exchange of students takes place. It covers Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, East and West Godavari and Krishna districts and the total 79 clubs in Rotary International District 3020.”

A cultural programme would be held as closing part of the seminar.
