Rosaiah’s Delhi trip of no help to State: BJP

HYDERABAD: State BJP president Bandaru Dattatreya on Sunday said Chief Minister K. Rosaiah’s visit to New Delhi had not benefited the State, as it was aimed at resolving the Congress party’s problems.

He told a press conference here that normally subjects like floods would get priority during a Chief Minister’s trip to Delhi, but this time they appeared to have taken a back seat. The issue of Congress Legislature Party meeting gained importance. Ideally the Centre should have given Rs.10,000-crore assistance to the State during Mr. Rosaiah’s trip. Given the current situation, there were doubts if the government could implement all projects initiated by the late YSR.

‘Loot of money’

Referring to reports on payment of Rs. 13 crore to contractors of the Vamsadhara project for non-execution of works, he described it as “loot of public money’.

He demanded Mr. Rosaiah to seek a CBI inquiry into the issue and the ‘irregularities’ in Sriramsagar Project works and also sought suspension of engineers.
