Hail them for bringing glory to State

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K. Rosaiah and Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday congratulated the Padma Award-winners from the State.

In a message, Mr. Rosaiah said the celebrities who won the awards had brought glory not only to themselves, but also to the State too. He praised Pratap C. Reddy, chairman, Apollo Hospitals (trade & industry) and former RBI Governor Y. Venugopala Reddy for getting Padma Vibhushan (public affairs), Nookala China Satyanarayana (Karnatak music exponent for Arts) for getting Padma Bhushan, Alluri Venkata Satyanarayana Raju (trade & industry), Sobha Raju (singer for arts), Saina Nehwal (badminton) for sports and Vijaya Prasad Dimri (science & engineering) for getting Padma Sri.

He said each award-winner was popular in his/her own field and revered in the State.

Mr. Naidu, while greeting the sports persons who were conferred the highest honour of Padma Sri, said their contribution was valuable. P. R. Mohan, former chairman, Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh, also congratulated the winners, particularly Saina Nehwal.
