The film-maker’s visit to Gandhi Bhavan for a book release causes flutter

HYDERABAD: The presence of noted film-maker and former Telugu Desam MP from Bapatla Daggubati Ramanaidu at Gandhi Bhavan, the Congress headquarters, caused a flutter on Sunday.

He had come to the Congress headquarters to attend a function to release a book ‘Jaiho Jananetha Jaitra Yatra’ authored by film journalist Pasumarthy Nagendra Kumar by APCC Campaign Committee chairman K. Rosaiah.

The senior Congress leader handed over the first copy to Mr. Naidu. Approached by media personnel, he dismissed speculation of joining the Congress.

Mr. Ramanaidu clarified that he was no more in politics. Nevertheless, he said Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy was instrumental in getting land for the Ramanaidu and Padmalaya Studios.

‘Close to YSR’

Stating that he had close relationship with the Chief Minister, he pointed out that Dr. Reddy had offered land for a studio in Visakhapatnam, which was inaugurated recently by him.

Mr. Rosaiah said the book would help spread the message of good work done by the government.
