Ramadoss foresees a greater movement by BCs

VISAKHAPATNAM: Pattali Makkal Katchi – PMK (a Tamil Nadu based party of the working class) founder S. Ramadoss did not rule out the possibility of the integrated movement of BCs and MBCs, which he encourages by touring every State, becoming a countrywide political set up one day and capture power.

Addressing a meet-the-press programme of the Vizag Journalists’ Forum here on Monday, he fielded a question on whether the countrywide movement launched by him for social justice would turn into a political platform. He quipped: “First they (BC and MBC leaders) will create awareness among the masses of their castes.

Then they will sit together and decide; and later a new leader will emerge.” He was confident that his PMK would capture power in Tamil Nadu in the 2011 Assembly elections. His movement would finally succeed, he said, when asked how he would win over the hearts of people of Tamil Nadu where the Dravidian movements were very strong.

Dr. Ramadoss said though 80 per cent of the population in India belonged to the BC, MBC, SC, ST and other weaker sections, injustice was still meted out to them in political, social and economical spheres.
