HYDERABAD: Anjuman Tajrin-e-Chirm, the organisation representing the community involved in skin trade at Bholakpur, has sought proper civic amenities for relocating their business near the Chengicherla abattoir.

Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy too is firm that the skin trade should be shifted from Bholakpur and accordingly advised the civic officials to take up all necessary measures.

Ever since SHRC issued the ban order, municipal officials have been trying to persuade the people involved in the trade to shift.

The community had sought eight sheds, walls around them, assured water supply, power and internal road link at the abattoir.

Senior municipal officials including Chief Engineer Dhan Singh, Chief Veterinary Officer P. Venkateshwar Reddy and others are to make another visit to the site on Wednesday to plan out the amenities to be provided. There are about 100 families earning their livelihoods through skin trade in the area, said Mr. Krishna Babu.
