Collector urged to take steps to distribute subsidies

KARIMNAGAR: The Zilla Parishad general body meeting has demanded the district administration to conduct a thorough inquiry into the performance of the district Fisheries Department and ensure that the subsidies reach the real fishermen and remove the middlemen.

Raising the issue, ZP Vice Chairman and TRS ZPTC member Ravinder Goud alleged that the Fisheries Department had failed to provide benefits to the real fishermen and the officials colluded with the middlemen and swindled public money. He urged Collector Sandeep Kumar Sultania to conduct an inquiry into performance of the Fisheries Department. He also urged the administration to take measures for the distribution of subsidies to the real fishermen and take action against the officials, who colluded with some middlemen.

Bogus certificates

The meeting also discussed at length about the prevalence and issuance of bogus disabled certificates and swindling of pensions and other benefits. The meeting demanded the administration to take action against the doctors for issuing fake physically handicapped certificates and also take criminal action against the persons who were creating forged certificates and denying the benefits to the real disabled persons.

The meeting opined conduct of special melas for the distribution of physically handicapped certificates and distribution of pensions to the disabled from the age group of 0 to 18 years also.
