Praja Rajyam workers block highway

Special Correspondent

GUNTUR: Though the High Court had directed political parties to stop roadshows mainly to discourage them from creating any problem for the road users, Praja Rajyam Party activists literally took National Highway No.5 from Guntur to Vijayawada into their control on Tuesday. Traffic came to standstill for half an hour in different spells at several places from Nambur to Tadepalli with PRP activists showing all their acrobatic skills on motorcycles and controlling the flow of all vehicles on to a single side (two-lane road) of the four-lane highway when their leader Vangaveeti Radhakrishna travelled from Hyderabad to Vijayawada via Guntur.

For kilometres together the traffic got stalled from 10 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. at several locations with hundreds of youth from Vijayawada coming down up to the Toll Plaza at Kaza near Acharya Nagarjuna University to receive Mr. Radha.
