VISAKHAPATNAM: Four policemen were injured seriously when Maoists set off a claymore mine blast near Palagedda on the border of Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts on Saturday.

V. Hemasundar Reddy, a constable whose collarbone was fractured, was airlifted to the city on Saturday evening for treatment after referring all the injured to a public health centre at KD Peta.

The incident occurred at noon when a party from Greyhounds was combing the jungles in search of Maoists as several VIPs were camping in the city to watch the one-dayer between India and Sri Lanka here.
