NALGONDA: Tension prevailed in Bolnepally, the politically sensitive village in Dameracherla mandal, following a clash between two groups on Thursday. The members of both groups pelted stones and hurled crude bombs at each other.

According to sources, the death of a pet dog which was crushed to death under a tipper led to a verbal duel between two persons belonging to rival groups. The situation took a violent turn when some more members of the two groups confronted one another and hurled crude bombs and stones targeting each other. Though the crude bombs exploded during the group clash, no one was injured due to the low intensity of the blasts, sources said. The village is known for group rivalries. Two Congressmen were killed in an attack by their rivals near the village a couple of months ago. Policemen have been deployed to diffuse tension and prevent untoward incidents.
