Barely a day left for campaigning to close

HINDUPUR: As the time for campaigning draws closer, barely a day left now, the main rival parties in the fray for the municipal elections here have shifted the electioneering as well as under-the-cover strategies into top gear. The campaign managers have been concentrating on street corner meetings in the day and contacting opinion leaders and rebels in the night.

The two Congress Ministers J.C. Diwakar Reddy and N. Raghuveera Reddy appear to have succeeded in appeasing a majority of party rebels.

The Ministers were also stated to have taken assurance from the strong party rebels and independents to support the Congress after the election. The Congress campaign managers have themselves admitted they have rebels in some seven wards. On the other hand, the TDP too has been bickering due to the rebel problem. The TDP campaign managers also admitted to strong rebels in some five wards

The Congress ally CPI is also facing a Congress rebel in one of the two wards allotted to it. The TDP ally CPI (M) is contesting from one ward, MIM 5 and BJP 27. For TDP, leaders like N. Harikrishna, Laljan Basha, Nagam Janardhan Reddy and M.V. Mysoora Reddy have campaigned.

Bandaru Dattatreya and Naresh have tried to win over the voters for BJP and Asaduddin Owaisi has campaigned for MIM.
