Palnadu festivities to begin on Nov.17

GUNTUR: All is set for the grandeur of Palnadu festivities to unfold at Karampudi on November 17.

The Palnadu Charitra Parirakshana Samithi, which has taken up the responsibility of conducting the festivities for the last four years, is planning to roll out a colourful festival, though drought threatens to dampen the proceedings.

Tourism, Information and Public Relations Minister J. Geetha Reddy is expected to inaugurate the festival and District incharge Minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose is expected to be the guest of honour.

District Collector B. Ramanjaneyulu who has already conducted a couple of review meetings, will convene another meeting on Monday along with elected representatives of the area.

On Sunday, the Collector will flag off the sports meet at Karampudi, while the actual festivities start on Tuesday.

Former Gurazala MLA Janga Krishnamurthy who has revived the Palnadu festivities is too actively involved in the festivities.
