HYDERABAD: The Land Reforms Tribunal of Ranga Reddy district will serve notices “anytime now” on the Ramoji and Sanghi groups of companies for recovery of their lands in Hayathnagar mandal near the city found in excess of the permitted extents under the AP Land Reforms (Ceiling on Agriculture Holdings) Act.
The Tribunal authorities handed over a copy of the final order to the advocate representing the Sanghi group of companies on Saturday as a prelude to revenue officials initiating action to recover the lands. The two can file their appeal petition before the appellate tribunal within 15 days of receiving the orders.
Sanghi group’s plea
The Sanghi group is understood to have made a representation to the Government to treat their excess land as “special economic zone” and grant an exemption from the Andhra Pradesh Land Reforms (Ceiling on Agriculture Holdings) Act. It pleaded that textile and other industries would be developed on the excess land if the exemption was granted.
Meanwhile, the Ranga Reddy Land Reforms Tribunal is considering more cases of lands held by other companies, especially Jana Harsha, Celebrity, Sai Real Estates, apart from Satyam Group, Srinidhi, Narne Estates, etc.
After physical and document verification, the tahsildar concerned has already made submission to the Tribunal through an advocate on behalf of the Government.
Final orders by the Tribunal in these cases are likely shortly.
