Mining land allotment to YSR's son

HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Legislature Party on Monday said it was not satisfied with Chief MinisterY. S. Rajasekhara Reddy's announcement of judicial enquiry into mining land allotment to his son's firm Raghuram Cements, DPEP scam and Nadergul lands. Addressing a press conference in the lobbies soon after the House was adjourned sine die, TDLP deputy leader N. Janardhan Reddy said the enquiry would be meaningless unless it was headed by a sitting High Court judge.

CPI(M) floor leader N. Narsimhaiah said the judicial enquiry was ordered as it suited the Government but it did not show similar interest in responding to issues like atrocities on Dalits and severe drinking water scarcity.

CPI floor leader Ch. Venkat Reddy said the Government failed to prevail upon Maharashtra to stop works on the Babli.
