No alliance for BJP in State, says Venkaiah Naidu

ONGOLE: Senior BJP leader M. Venkaiah Naidu has stated categorically that his party would not have alliance with any political party in the State and will contest the coming elections on its own in Andhra Pradesh.

When newspersons wanted to know the relations between the BJP and the new party likely to be floated by cine actor Chiranjeevi, Mr. Naidu asserted that BJP would like to contest the elections on its own. He, however, admitted that BJP has only marginal strength in the State. But it won four Lok Sabha seats on its own in 1998 election, he pointed out. He felt people would vote for different parties in the coming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

The BJP leader predicted “unimaginable and surprising” alliances in the State in the next two or three months.
