Nagarjuna varsity eves team runners-up in all-India tourney

Gurunanak Dev University conducts inter-zonal championship

GUNTUR: Acharya Nagarjuna University women’s handball team were runners up in the All India Inter-Zonal Tournament organised held in Amritsar recently.

The team which represented South Zone in the tournament returned on Monday.

The team members called on Vice-Chancellor V. Balamohandas to apprise him of its achievement at the tournament hosted by Gurunanak Dev University of Punjab.

ANU Department of Physical Education Director Y. Kishore led the team.

Members of the winning team were: V. Saujanya, A. Sravani Durga Lakshmi, B. Rajyalakshmi, T. Rajyalakshmi, K. Prasannagouri and M. Vasavi, (ASN Degree College, Tenali); Sd. Parveen and P. Seminar

Department of Sociology and Social Work will organise a lecture-cum-seminar at the newly-built Diechmann Auditorium on ‘Gandhi and Non-violence’ on Wednesday.

Professor Emeritus on Gandhian Studies at University of California Michael Magler will be the key person to speak.

Several speakers from all over the country would attend.
