NCC to organise mega camp every year, says Minister

Kakinada: Union Minister of State for Defence M.M. Pallam Raju said that National Cadet Corps (NCC) has resolved to organise a National Integration Camp (NIC) at Kakinada every year and it would be a part of NCC’s annual calendar of events. The decision to organise NIC in this port city as a regular programme was taken to popularise NCC among the youth in these parts of the country, he said while conveying his thanks to NCC Director General Lt. Gen. R.K. Karwal for successfully organising a special NIC last week, in a formal meeting with NCC officers here on Saturday.

Mr. Pallam Raju said NCC was the best platform for youth to nurture their skills and grow into a responsible citizens by developing a sense of camaraderie and team work. The NCC cadets were known all over the world for their discipline and commitment to welfare of the nation, he said and added that they needed to preserve that image.

NCC Kakinada Group Commander Col. A.S. Kumara Swamy said he was thankful to the Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi, Joint Collector K. Sasidhar and SP Y. Nagi Reddy for their cooperation in holding special NIC. He also expressed gratitude to Andhra Pradesh Special Police DGP (Battalions) Gowtam Kumar.
