HYDERABAD: The city police on Tuesday reportedly found that car driver Shekhar, 22, did not go missing as suspected by his employer but was murdered allegedly by his colleague Sheshender and others at Vanasthalipuram few weeks ago.

Hailing from Dadigadda of Mahbubnagar district, Shekhar came to the city to earn a livelihood and joined as a worker in a biscuit factory at Katedan. He fell in love with a woman working there. To improve his earnings, he learnt driving and joined as a driver with a travel agency at Nacharam where he met Sheshender.

Sheshender allegedly cast his eyes on Shekhar’s fiancée as she used to come to meet him now and then. On April 29, Shekhar requested his employer to lend the car claiming that he had to attend a function. In the same car, he drove his fiancée to the Chilkur Balaji temple where they wanted to get married. On learning this, Sheshender alerted the woman’s relative Ravinder.

The duo, along with three of their associates, went to Chilkur, stopped the marriage, sent away the woman to her house and took Shekhar to Almasguda in Vansthalipuram.

“On reaching a secluded place, they throttled him to death, dumped the body in bushes and fled,” the police said.
