Miscalculation costs TDP dear

HYDERABAD: As the election results returned the Congress with a comfortable majority, Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu went into a huddle with his close aides wondering if he had committed a gross political miscalculation.

Mr. Naidu’s Grand Alliance with Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Left parties much like what the Congress did in 2004 Assembly elections did not seem to have paid off in the Telangana region. Far from reaping a rich harvest from the alliance, the party feels it was done in by the TRS mainly and in some constituencies by the Left parties.

The CPI and CPI (M) performance was not upto expectation in Khammam and Nalgonda affecting the chances of the TDP and GA.
