HYDERABAD: Metered call taxi service, Meru Cab Company Pvt. Ltd, began organising a ‘driver-entrepreneur mela’ at its office in Kondapur on Monday. The company has plans to expand its fleet strength from the current 400 to 600 by January next year and hence this recruitment drive, said branch manager of the company Harsh Pillai.

Shortlisted candidates will be tested on their driving skills, English language, and personal hygiene.

Only those who meet the fitness criterion of the company, pass background checks and have a taxi driver license with a badge, will be recruited for the posts.

Once selected they would be handed over a brand new company-owned, GPRS-equipped vehicle for which they would have to pay a daily subscription amount of Rs.900. The company, in turn, would provide call-centre support and maintenance serviceThe recruitment will be on for four more days.
