Maoists killed in exchange of fire

WARANGAL: Two Maoists were killed in an exchange of fire with the police in Tadvai forest area here on Tuesday.

According to information reaching here, the police on a tip-off launched combing operations in the forest area between Pasra and Tadvai and at around 12 noon, they spotted a group of naxals. In the exchange of fire that followed, two Maoists were killed while the rest managed to escape. The police recovered two shot weapons, one country made revolver and one tapancha from the site. The dead are yet to be identified, said Special Branch Inspector Ashok.

Meanwhile, a Maoist and a Pratighatana group member surrendered to the police in the presence of Superintendent of Police Soumya Mishra here on Tuesday.
