MCT makes door numbers less confusing

Staff Reporter

TIRUPATI: The door numbers in the city will henceforth be devoid of the hyphens, obliques and alphabets in between and hence less confusing.

The Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) is implementing a project to provide a ‘single number’ to every household, ranging from 1 to 999. An address can be found easily by just mentioning the door number and the street number in every ward. After screening the various proposals and carefully studying the options on hand, the project was formally launched on a pilot basis in the sixth ward of the city on Monday. “For example, an address will now be as easy as No.66, Road No.3, Ashok Nagar, instead of the present 18-3-412/43-A2 and so on,” Commissioner P.Mohan Reddy told media persons.

The MCT is spending Rs.10 lakh for the project .
