Legal notices served on six for remarks against

the MP

GUNTUR: The political war between the two groups in the Congress here has taken a new turn with Rayapati Sambasiva Rao sending a legal notice to four Guntur Municipal Corporators and two Congress leaders for alleged defamatory statements against him.

His lawyer M. Venkata Subba Rao told The Hindu that he had served a legal notice on them seeking an unconditional apology from them with regard to their remarks against the Guntur MP within a week otherwise face a lawsuit for a value of Rs.6 crores (Rs.1 crore each).

The four corporators -- Kavati Manohar Naidu, Adapa Kasi Viswanatham, Shaiak Saida, M. Mutyala Rao – who are close to Minister for Major Industries Minister Kanna Lakshmi Narayana made certain allegations against the MP.

Two former corporators Etigadda Narasimha Reddy and Nageswara Rao also levelled charges against him. With municipal elections a few months away, efforts are on to establish supremacy over each other.
