‘We will elect our own leader’

‘A. Narendra is true Telangana leader’

Newly elected members urged to join rebels

Sangareddy: Dissident Telangana Rashtra Samiti legislator T. Jayaprakash Reddy said on Sunday that the dissidents who were larger in number would soon elect their own leader in the Assembly and claim right over the Telangana Rashtra Samiti party office ‘Telangana Bhavan’ in Hyderabad.

Addressing a press conference here, he said Telangana Bhavan belongs to the people of Telangana and its ownership should be restored to its representatives.

He called upon the newly elected seven TRS legislators to join hands with the dissidents to form a bigger group which would strive for separate State as well development of the region.

Terming Medak MP A. Narendra as a ‘true Telangana leader’ he said the dissidents would work in tandem with his TRS (N).

He demanded Telangana Rashtra Samiti party chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao not to simply resign as party chief but to retire from active politics once and for all to save the Telangana pride.

He announced that very soon the dissident legislators would meet and chalk out the future course of action.

Answering a question on the ongoing disqualification trial by the Assembly Speaker and the chances of becoming a larger group representing Telangana Rashtra Samiti, he said the investigation was going on and the dissidents hope that that their stand would be vindicated.

‘KCR great gambler’

Blaming Mr. Rao and his overconfidence for the debacle in the byelections, Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy said that Mr. Rao sacrificed the Telangana sentiment in the political gamble he played like the Yudhishtra in Mahabharata. He said the unwarranted byelections not only hurt the development of the region but also the sentiments of people.
