‘Housing programme progressing tardily’

KADAPA: Indiramma housing programme is progressing tardily due to laxity of mandal-level officials, Collector M.T. Krishna Babu remarked on Thursday and warned of action against erring officials, if they did not mend ways.

The Collector expressed ire at mandal-level officials for giving vague information on the first and second phases of Indiramma housing, while addressing ‘Jagruthi’, Badvel constituency-level review meeting at Gopavaram MPDO office with officials of Badvel, Gopavaram, Atlur and B. Kodur mandals.

Pulling up the officials, he remarked that they were giving information without making field visits or monitoring the situation. He warned the mandal official team for improper monitoring.

Badvel constituency lagged behind in Indiramma housing programme, the Collector noted.

Anantapur Staff Reporter says: There was a considerable difference in the progress of Indiramma housing scheme in the field and in the online details, Collector N. Sridhar said here on Thursday. He told the officials to show actual progress reflecting in the field in online too.

Holding a review meeting on the progress of the scheme here he also directed the officials to cancel the houses sanctioned in the first phase of the scheme, which were not grounded so far. Serve notices on the beneficiaries who had not even taken up basement work and cancel the houses sanctioned to them without much delay, he said.

The district was second in the State in the first phase of the scheme and first in the second phase. The Collector suggested the housing officials to give preference to the first phase house while releasing cement to the beneficiaries.
