VISAKHAPATNAM: Darkness still enveloped the world as the young and the old trooped in with bed-sheets tucked under their arms to the Andhra University Cricket Ground on Sunday morning for the yoga camp of Guru Ramdev. Soon the ground was packed with crowd. People started to arrive as early as 3.30 a.m. to secure a place with a good view.

As the faint rays of dawn streaked across the sky, the crowd began to follow the master’s discourse on yoga. The gravely voice caught everyone’s attention as he talked about the virtues of yoga. “Yoga is a way of life which can protect people from diseases without any side effect,” Ramdev told the gathering. It was a different experience for the audience as he demonstrated the techniques of yoga. They promptly learnt the techniques by following him step by step.

“We have come here for a better understanding of Kapalbharathi and Pranayama. It calms the mind and keeps it mentally active,” says Anushka, a college student. The camp was organised and sponsored by Shree Foundation in association with Institute of Yoga and Consciousness, AU.
