Gold jewellery stolen

HYDERABAD: Thieves took away gold jewellery weighing 650 gms and Rs. 60,000 after breaking into a flat at Kamalapuri Colony in Banjara Hills, the police said on Saturday.

Prabhakar Rao, a book publisher owning the flat, went to Shirdi with his family on Thursday. On return they found the main door lock broken.

The Banjara Hills Detective Inspector Vinod Kumar said the offenders collected the jewellery and cash from the almirah by opening them using the keys left by the house owner behind the TV set.

The apartment had no watchman.
