Gang circulating fake currency busted

The accused offered three fake notes for every genuine currency note



KADAPA: Kadapa II Town Police arrested two members of a fake currency circulation gang and seized fake currency of Rs. 15,800 from them on Saturday. Vijayakumar Reddy of Papasahebpet in Chintakommadinne mandal and Kishore of Guntakal, who were residing on the outskirts of Kadapa city, were arrested by Sub-Inspector M. Nagabhushanam and his team in a raid near fisheries pond in Devunikadapa, Kadapa East, Circle Inspector V. Narayanaswamy Reddy told a press conference here.Vijayakumar Reddy’s brother Mallikarjuna Reddy and another person of Nandyal, who had supplied them the fake notes printed on a laser printer, would be apprehended soon, the CI said. Vijayakumar Reddy, who stole a motorcycle in 1999 and was imprisoned in a fake currency racket in 2005, came into contact with an Anglo-Indian, Grace Biggs, in jail and took up fake note circulation, he said.

The gang offered three fake notes in exchange of every genuine currency note, Mr. Narayanaswamy Reddy explained.
