NELLORE: About 32 schoolchildren who are suffering with cleft palate (called as grahanam morri in local parlance) would be provided treatment at a private hospital in Chennai.

The children were examined at a medical camp organised by Rajiv Vidya Mission (RVM) on the Municipal School premises in the city on Wednesday. Under ‘Drushti’ programme, RVM was providing treatment to 2.37 lakh students who are suffering eye problems in various government schools in the district.

Collector K. Ramgopal, who visited the camp, interacted with the children and enquired RVM project officer B. Ramireddy about the treatment for the patients.

The PO explained that the children would be treated at the Meenakshi Ammal Dental and General Hospital in Chennai. The doctors said they would be taken to the hospital for tests and surgeries would be performed free of cost.
