Four arrested; weapon, fake notes seized

VISAKHAPATNAM: The City Task Force police arrested four accused in two separate cases and seized a country made gun and some fake and real currency on Tuesday.

In the first case, T. Bujji of Arilova was arrested for being in possession of a country made gun.

On a tip-off that fake currency notes were being circulated from a house at Seethammapeta in the city, CTF SIs Anand Reddy and Tirupathi Rao conducted a raid and arrested three accused for dealing with fake notes. Tejeswara Rao of Hyderabad brought Rs.1.5 lakhs to exchange them for fake notes of Rs.3 lakhs. K.V. Satyanarayana of Butchirajupalem in the city and Appanna of Berhampur had agreed to give the fake notes in exchange for the real notes.

They were showing the fake notes to Tejeswara Rao when CTF team swooped on them and arrested took them into custody. Fake notes of the value of Rs.1,000 and real notes valued at Rs.1.5 lakhs was seized from them.

The accused were handed over to the respective police stations for further investigation.
